Noninvasive Measurement of Gastric Propagation Using a Squid Magnetometer

چکیده
A vector Superconducting QUuntum Interference Device (SQUID} magnetometer wus used to meusure the magnetic fields nssociated with propagation of gustric electrical uctivity. Measurements of the magnetic field vector were consistent with the presumed pattern of current propagation in the gastric musculature. Further studies using two SQUID systems ullowed the first noninvasive determination of the gnstric propagation velocity.

Noninvasive diagnosis of mesenteric ischemia using a SQUID magnetometer.
OBJECTIVE The authors assessed the ability of a Superconducting Quantum Interference Device (SQUID) magnetometer to noninvasively detect mesenteric ischemia in a rabbit model. SUMMARY BACKGROUND DATA Superconducting Quantum Interference Device magnetometers have been used to detect magnetic fields created by the basic electrical rhythm (BER) and to detect changes in BER of exteriorized bowel ...

The ability to study the pathology of the stomach noninvasively from magnetic field measurements is important due to the significant practical advantages offered by noninvasive methods over other techniques of investigation. The inverse biomagnetic problem can play a central role in this process due to the information that inverse solutions can yield concerning the characteristics of the gastri...

We recorded the vector magnetogastrogram (MGG) due to gastric electrical activity (GEA) in normal rabbits using a Superconducting QUantum Interference Device (SQUID) magnetometer and measured the degree of correlation of the MGG with 24 channels of serosal electrodes. The vector magnetometer allows us to non-invasively record three orthogonal magnetic field components and project the recorded m...
متن کاملMeasurement of magnetic fields and current source localization in auditory cortical activity of rats by a 12-channel dc-SQUID gradiometer
Most of the previously reported studies on the auditory brain function of small animals used invasive techniques, such as the insertion or placement of electrodes in the cortex [1]. The invasive measurement is applied to studies on shortterm experiments because maintaining optimum conditions for a long period of time is difficult in small animals. This study focused on the noninvasive measureme...
متن کاملMagnetic field measurements using very sensitive SQUIDs
SQUID systems, using either high temperature or low temperature superconductors, were developed for sensitive measurements in magnetically disturbed environments. They include the SQUIDs and fast SQUID electronics. Magnetometer SQUID systems are used for geophysical sounding, where they show superiority when compared to conventional induction coils for very deep sounding or fast measurement. Hi...
